Ordinary objects, transformed into reflections of memory, time, and place

This series was born from a personal loss. Following the death of my older brother, Oz Ziv R.I.P, I felt as though something had sawed my mind in two.
In search of a way to express that feeling, I began photographing slices of fruits and vegetables. Through the cut, their inner structures are revealed—hidden layers of life, vulnerability, and beauty. What appears familiar and ordinary is transformed into an intimate landscape, almost human in nature.
Slice of Life is a reflection on loss and on the possibility of discovering beauty, meaning, and life within the wound itself.
הסדרה נולדה מתוך אובדן אישי. לאחר מותו של אחי הבכור, עוז זיו, הרגשתי כאילו משהו ניסר את המוח שלי לשניים.
בחיפוש אחר דרך לבטא את התחושה הזו, התחלתי לצלם פרוסות של פירות וירקות. דרך החתך נחשפים הקרביים – שכבות נסתרות של חיים, פגיעוּת ויופי. מה שנראה מוכר ופשוט הופך לנוף פנימי, כמעט אנושי.
Slice of Life היא התבוננות בפצע ובאפשרות למצוא בתוכו יופי, משמעות וחיים.
